Seth Godin posted a great bit on his blog on small business whining. And he’s right. While being a small or home based business may have some limitations over the big guys, it should not result in less competent service. Regardless of business size, all businesses should act “big” by not making excuses and by providing the best service possible.
Success Magazine is reporting that 7% of American’s dream of owning their own business. What’s interesting is that the stats support what I have been saying all the long; use what you already know or love to make money. According to the magazine 57% love their hobbies enough to turn it into a business and 40% dream of owning a business so that they can love what the do.
What’s really interesting is that time with family and having a flexible schedule rated the lowest in the reasons for wanting a business at 15% and 21%.
