Check out my story at Moms In A Blog

My friend Tracy Roberts has profiled me on her new blog network, Moms In a Blog.

Its always interesting for me to do interviews about how I got from work-at-home wannabe to work-at-home mom. I haven’t really done anything special or extraordinary. At the same time, I do feel a sense of pride because being successful working at home isn’t easy.

In life, we tend to be herded around. We go to school and success is determined by how well we can regurgitate what we’re taught. In college we have some choice over what we want to study, but the experience is still about sticking to the status quo. Getting a job is much of the same. Its about showing up, doing what is on the list everyday for 20 or 40 years.

Working at home, even in a job, requires stepping away from the herd and the herd mentality. Not only does it require taking the road less traveled, but often you have to clear the road and pave it yourself. The hard part is staying the course and not getting discouraged when you come across yet another obstacle. That’s why I focus not just on the “how” to work at home, which is actually quite simple, but character it takes to succeed. Working at home isn’t about what you choose to do, its about whether or not you’ll do it. So things like commitment, determination, persistence, are the real keys to success.

With that said, if you’re curious as to my journey to work-at-home success, check out Tracy’s profile of me at Moms In a Blog.
